BOSSERT, Walter

Walter Bossert earned his PhD in Economics from Karlsruhe University in 1988. Before coming to the Université de Montréal, he taught at the University of British Columbia, the University of Waterloo and the University of Nottingham, in Great Britain.
He has been a Full Professor in the Department since 2000, and is a CIREQ researcher.
Most of his research concerns the analysis of links between the social choice theory and ethics, using mathematical techniques. In particular, he is working on welfare indicators, individual and collective decision theory, and the rationality of economic choices.

EHLERS, Lars

Lars Ehlers joined the Université de Montréal in 2001. He earned his PhD in Economics at the University of Maastricht in 2001, after graduating in Mathematics from the University of Aachen, in 1997.
He is an elected member of the Council of the Society for Social Choice and Welfare and a member of the Board of the Society for Economic Design.
In the 2003 SSHRC Standard Research Grants competition, his research proposal was ranked first in Canada. In 2012, the Society for Social Choice and Welfare awarded him the 6th Social Choice and Welfare Prize. He is the organizer of the Microeconomic Theory Group at CIREQ.
At present, his research deals with the manipulation of matching mechanisms on labour markets, the assignment of indivisible objects and externalities in cooperative environments.

KLEIN, Nicolas

Nicolas Klein holds a PhD from the University of Munich, and joined our Department on July 20, 2012.
His research interests have to do with microeconomic theory and, more specifically, dynamic incentive problems and strategic information acquisition. In particular, he is attempting to understand the impact of strategic interaction in dynamic problems of information acquisition and its effect on individual behaviours and the effectiveness of equilibrium situations.
SPRUMONT, Yves

Yves Sprumont earned his PhD in Economics at Virginia Tech in 1990.
His research focuses on the axiomatic analysis of group decision-making procedures.
